Hubby (and support crew leader) Dave has bought me a touchscreen GPS unit to help me navigate the 100km route across the South Downs - probably because he knows there's not a hope in hell of me successfully using a map and compass! I managed to pass several underwater navigation exercises when completing various diving exams a few years ago but above water I have no sense of direction whatsoever. Now he just has to learn how to use it so he can show me.
